3 arrested after Eva meth lab raid
EVA — Authorities found a 5-year-old child living in what they described as deplorable conditions and arrested three people after discovering an active methamphetamine lab inside a home Monday. The child is in the custody of family members, and investigators plan to pursue criminal child-endangerment charges, Morgan County Sheriff Greg Bartlett said. Drug Task Force agents served a search warrant at 1081 Daniels Chapel Road at about 9:45 p.m. after receiving tips the residents were cooking meth, he said. Agents found a shake-and-bake meth lab, precursor chemicals and ingredients, Bartlett said. Finished meth also was found, he said. Three adults and the child were in the home during the raid. “This was some of the most deplorable conditions we’ve seen in some time,” said Sgt. Doug Key, Drug Task Force supervisor. Agents said the house was littered with trash, roaches and filth. Authorities charged the resident, Jamie Chris Millwood Walker, 31; Jimmy Dale Panter, 50, of Eva; and Kenith Wayne Millwood, 52, of Vinemont with first-degree manufacture of a controlled substance. All three were booked into Morgan County Jail where they will remain until a judge reviews the case, Bartlett said. Authorities said they are searching for other suspects involved in the lab and more charges are pending.

why do you see the same names on these charges week after week, oh wait its the $500.00 bond they must post. one shake and bake produces around $2000.00 street value. why are the houses not being condemed, they are not fit for human habitation after being exposed to these fumes. all the surrounding countys must be working the drugs harder than morgan county, because all of the drug makers are moving there to do their deed.
buster....Be patient. Next year is an election year. You won't be able to pick up the Daily without reading about drug busts in Morgan county in 2010.
scott, i guess you don't read the paper much now. the sheriff's office has more arrest in the paper on drug cases than i've seen in years. what's your problem?
Alan the Sheriff wasn't searching for these meth labs. Most were stumbled upon by accident. Since meth production has increased greatly in our county, there is going to be meth labs found easier. My question is , why do you not see Bartlett's pic at meth bust ? In Limestone, Blakley is involved personely with his deputies on raids and arrest ? Just because Bartlett has the title of Sheriff does not mean he is involved in these arrest but my hat is off to the officers that put THEIR lives on the line for us.
