Incentives spur growth, benefit city financially

To The Daily: I am writing to express my support of the incentives Decatur is offering in order to attract the Bass Pro Shops development to our city.

I believe that, as a local business owner myself, these incentives will be progressive and also have the foresight to move Decatur forward.

Offering incentives to bring a development of this nature will further promote tourism by bringing people into Decatur. This in turn will bring more retail to the city and stimulate restaurants as well as residential growth along Alabama 20.

As a recipient of a tax abatement, my business has proven it was monetarily positive for the city and local economy, as a result of our growth and rise in employment.
