Mrs. James Thompson
Melanie Lea Whitehead and James Robert Thompson IV, both of Decatur, were married May 17 at First Bible Church.

The Rev. Dr. Steve Bateman performed the 5 p.m. ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynn Whitehead and Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Thompson III, all of Decatur.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white strapless taffeta and lace fitted gown with sweetheart neckline, draped bodice, corset back, side pleated detail on the skirt, brush train and detachable tulle and lace bustled chapel-length train. She carried miniature pink calla lilies.

Matron of honor was Stephanie McGrew of Decatur, and maid of honor was Brittanie Temple of Decatur.

Bridesmaids were Lauren Hendriks, Taylor McClain and Lou Ellen Thompson, all of Decatur; Sarah Lemmons of Hartselle; Karen Francis and Leah Roberts, both of Red Bay; Nicki Huggins of Jasper; and Magan Stott of Haleyville.

The groom's father served as best man.

Groomsmen were Jonathan Blaylock of Hartselle; Travis Case, Tyler Harney, Bobby Huffman, Wilson Key, Matthew Morehead, Michael Nance, Sam Thompson and John Warren, all of Decatur; Matt Payne of Greenville; Tanner White of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; and Craig Wright of Huntsville.

Ushers were A.J. Edwards and Joshua Wolfe, both of Huntsville, and Jarrod Harney, Jonathan Koza and Neil Moats, all of Decatur.

Joey Lubisco was ring bearer.

The Rev. Robert Bailey Jr. read Scripture.

Music was provided by the Lyric Ensemble String Quartet, Katherine Newman on harp, Beth Ellsworth on piano and Dr. Mitch Schuster, Tom Hamlin Jr. and the Rev. Bruce Ellsworth on guitar and drums.

Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Johns Wiley were vocalists.

Sara Alice Godwin directed the wedding.

A reception followed at the church. Kristen Hamilton and Savannah Lemmons were guest book attendants.

Allen-Weeks

Stacie Michelle Allen of Hartselle and Jarrod Russell Weeks of Seminole, Fla., were married May 17 at First Baptist Church in Decatur.

The Rev. Bill Hurt performed the 2 p.m. ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Alice Allen and Wayne Allen, both of Hartselle, and Russell and Johna Weeks of Seminole.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of imported Italian white satin. Designed with a basque waist, the strapless gown featured a molded bodice of pearled silk and re-embroidered Alencon lace adorned with seed pearls and iridescent sequins.

The full, softly gathered skirt was accented with the same trims. The detachable royal-length train was covered with the same Alencon lace, seed pearls and sequins as the gown.

Her waltz-length veil with scalloped edging was adorned with crystals and pearls.

Maid of honor was Laura Beth Carroll of Birmingham.

Bridesmaids were Staci Jackson Taylor of Hartselle, the bride's stepsister; Lauren Weeks and Kaylen Weeks, the groom's sisters, both of Seminole; and Anna Harris of Pell City.

Flower girl was Sydney Connor.

Derick Meadows of Seminole served as best man.

Groomsmen were Johnny Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; Thomas Jeffrey Burghardt and Grant McEwen, both of Montgomery; and Drew Littrell of St. Pete Beach, Fla., the groom's cousin.

The Rev. Micheal Jones performed the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Bernice Brown of Decatur and Joe Lewis Brown of Huntsville and Ardie and Izora Orr of Danville.

The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, William Cross.

She wore a long ivory gown and matching veil. Her bouquet was blue, ivory and silver.

Bridesmaids were Joanna Brown, Kelly Brown, Joey Woods and Tierra Brown.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Aubrey Hamilton of Hoover.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James E. Anton and the late Mr. Anton of Trussville and Aubrey H. Hamilton of Hoover and the late Christine Carson Hamilton of Tuscaloosa.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lynn Smith of Martinsville, Ind., formerly of Mobile.

Mr. Smith is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Smith of Illinois and Mrs. Wilburn L. Keller and the late Mr. Keller of St. Louis.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.
