Whitehead-Thompson
The Rev. Dr. Steve Bateman performed the 5 p.m. ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynn Whitehead and Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Thompson III, all of Decatur. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white strapless taffeta and lace fitted gown with sweetheart neckline, draped bodice, corset back, side pleated detail on the skirt, brush train and detachable tulle and lace bustled chapel-length train. She carried miniature pink calla lilies. Matron of honor was Stephanie McGrew of Decatur, and maid of honor was Brittanie Temple of Decatur. Bridesmaids were Lauren Hendriks, Taylor McClain and Lou Ellen Thompson, all of Decatur; Sarah Lemmons of Hartselle; Karen Francis and Leah Roberts, both of Red Bay; Nicki Huggins of Jasper; and Magan Stott of Haleyville. The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Blaylock of Hartselle; Travis Case, Tyler Harney, Bobby Huffman, Wilson Key, Matthew Morehead, Michael Nance, Sam Thompson and John Warren, all of Decatur; Matt Payne of Greenville; Tanner White of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; and Craig Wright of Huntsville. Ushers were A.J. Edwards and Joshua Wolfe, both of Huntsville, and Jarrod Harney, Jonathan Koza and Neil Moats, all of Decatur. Joey Lubisco was ring bearer. The Rev. Robert Bailey Jr. read Scripture. Music was provided by the Lyric Ensemble String Quartet, Katherine Newman on harp, Beth Ellsworth on piano and Dr. Mitch Schuster, Tom Hamlin Jr. and the Rev. Bruce Ellsworth on guitar and drums. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Johns Wiley were vocalists. Sara Alice Godwin directed the wedding. A reception followed at the church. Kristen Hamilton and Savannah Lemmons were guest book attendants. Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Huntsville. Parties The groom's parents gave a rehearsal party at Sykes Place on Bank Street. A bridal brunch on April 12 was given by Zilpha Balch, Flora Cooper, Rhonella Hamilton, Kristen Hamilton, Tammy Haney, Harriet Holland, Wymbreth Howard, Jill McConnell, Stephanie McGrew, Pam McLemore, Patti Lubisco, Julie Reeves, and Gladys Webster. A bachelorette weekend was given by bridesmaids April 18-20 in Destin, Fla. A picnic supper May 3 was given by Mrs. and Mrs. Charlie Adams, Mr. and Mrs. John Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Baggett, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gray, Dr. and Mrs. George Godwin, Mr. and Mrs. Gil Key, Mr. and Mrs. Rip Nabors and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Vickery. A bridesmaids' luncheon May 16 was hosted by Robin Lemmons. A wedding day brunch was given by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ashwander, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Harter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Mitchum, Betty Nettles, Susan Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Tweedy.
Allen-Weeks
The Rev. Bill Hurt performed the 2 p.m. ceremony. Parents of the couple are Alice Allen and Wayne Allen, both of Hartselle, and Russell and Johna Weeks of Seminole. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of imported Italian white satin. Designed with a basque waist, the strapless gown featured a molded bodice of pearled silk and re-embroidered Alencon lace adorned with seed pearls and iridescent sequins. The full, softly gathered skirt was accented with the same trims. The detachable royal-length train was covered with the same Alencon lace, seed pearls and sequins as the gown. Her waltz-length veil with scalloped edging was adorned with crystals and pearls. Maid of honor was Laura Beth Carroll of Birmingham. Bridesmaids were Staci Jackson Taylor of Hartselle, the bride's stepsister; Lauren Weeks and Kaylen Weeks, the groom's sisters, both of Seminole; and Anna Harris of Pell City. Flower girl was Sydney Connor. Derick Meadows of Seminole served as best man. Groomsmen were Johnny Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; Thomas Jeffrey Burghardt and Grant McEwen, both of Montgomery; and Drew Littrell of St. Pete Beach, Fla., the groom's cousin. Ushers were Chris Oakes of Temple Terrace, Fla., and Jeremy Posey of Lafayette, La. Ring bearer was Austin Littrell of St. Pete Beach, the groom's cousin. Wedding music was provided by Terry Moore, pianist, and Elizabeth Carter, organist, both of Decatur. Sara Kriepe and Ryan Pest, both of Huntsville, were vocalists. Teresa Letson was wedding director. A reception followed in the church fellowship hall. Susan Bramlett of Clanton and Sarah Weeks and Tori Weeks, both of Decatur, were reception assistants. Rebecca Harris Jackson presided at the guest book. Following a wedding trip to Sandals Resort in St. Lucia, they reside in Northport. Parties The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Burningtree Country Club. A shower for couples was given March 23 by Laura Beth Carroll at River Park in Tuscaloosa. A bridal tea was given at the home of Sonie Wilson on April 6, with Martha Cooper, Susan Smith and Tami Watts assisting. A bridal tea was given by the women of Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church on April 20. A tool and gadget shower was May 3 at the Decatur home of Ed and Carolyn Brock, with Linda Carpenter and Ola Mae Coleman assisting.
Cross-Orr
The Rev. Micheal Jones performed the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Bernice Brown of Decatur and Joe Lewis Brown of Huntsville and Ardie and Izora Orr of Danville. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, William Cross. She wore a long ivory gown and matching veil. Her bouquet was blue, ivory and silver. Matron of honor was Janice Orr, and maid of honor was Christy Meyers. Bridesmaids were Joanna Brown, Kelly Brown, Joey Woods and Tierra Brown. Shay Cross was junior bridesmaid. Flower girls were Alsa Orr and Shayna Toney. Larry Garner served as best man. Groomsmen were Shannon Orr, L.G. Orr, Mack Orr, Roderick Brown, Kendrick Echols and Cornelius Echols. Jay Brown was junior groomsman. Ushers were Jessica Orr, Aleixa Orr, Shun Orr, Angel Orr and Susie Orr. Ring bearer was Devron Carroll, and Bible bearer was Jacoby Flecter. Lloyd Jones was wedding musician, and vocalist was Courtney Henderson. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Holiday Inn. Jenet Perkins was wedding director, and she and Candi Staten assisted with the reception. Sandra Brown was guest book attendant. The couple resides in Danville.
Sparks-Felks
The Rev. Tim MacPhee performed the 2 p.m. ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sparks of Moulton and Gerald Felks of Danville. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Billy Joe Terry of Moulton. Kaitlin Sandlin of Michigan, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. The flower girl was Olivia Sparks, sister of the bride. Thomas Dutton, brother of the groom, served as best man. The reception was held in the garden at the Old State Bank. After a wedding trip to Chattanooga, they live in Moulton.

Parents of the couple are Buck and Charlotte Dozier, the late Johnny Hooper and Joe and Anita Voss.
Hamilton-Smith
Melanie Gail Hamilton of Birmingham, formerly of Decatur, and Paul Andrew Smith of Birmingham were married May 17 at the home of the bride's parents in Hoover. The bride's brother, Christopher Lee Hamilton of Seattle performed the 3 p.m. ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Aubrey Hamilton of Hoover. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James E. Anton and the late Mr. Anton of Trussville and Aubrey H. Hamilton of Hoover and the late Christine Carson Hamilton of Tuscaloosa. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lynn Smith of Martinsville, Ind., formerly of Mobile. Mr. Smith is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Smith of Illinois and Mrs. Wilburn L. Keller and the late Mr. Keller of St. Louis. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Bridesmaids were Lauren Faber of Decatur, Katie Robertson-Shaddix of Tuscaloosa, Amanda Dorsett Shipp of Birmingham and Kathryn Abrams Steele of Montgomery. Matt Smith of Atlanta served as best man. Groomsmen were Damon Carter and Jeremy Gordinier, both of Birmingham, and Rick Weetman of Atlanta. The wedding director was the bride's aunt, Earline Banks of Leeds. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents. After a trip to Amelia Island, Fla., the couple will reside in Leeds. A rehearsal party was given by the groom's parents at Rojo on Highland Avenue in Birmingham.
Bowie-Johnson
Parents of the couple are Angela Bowie of Decatur and Robert Brown of Chattanooga, and Naideen Clopton of Town Creek and Tommie Johnson Sr. of Courtland. Miss Bowie is the granddaughter of Larry and Sherry Bowie and Freddie Thornton, all of Chattanooga. She is a 1997 graduate of West Morgan High School. She graduated from Alabama A & M University in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in business management. She is employed by Centers for the Developmentally Disabled as a payroll accounting specialist. Mr. Johnson is a 1993 graduate of Courtland High School. He graduated from Alabama A & M University in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in physical education. He served three years in the United States Army. He is employed by Brookhaven Middle School as a physical education teacher and football and basketball coach. The wedding is planned for May 24 at Moulton Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
Graham-Goodwin
Miss Graham is the granddaughter of John and Ruth Clark of Rosenberg, Texas, and Leon Graham of Florence. She is a graduate of West Morgan High School. She graduated from Auburn University, where she majored in industrial and systems engineering. She was a member of Auburn Marching Band and treasurer of Society of Women Engineers. Mr. Goodwin is the grandson of Lloyd Goodwin of Cullman, Julia Lauderdale of West Blocton, and Aaron and Mary Beth Morris of Moody. He is a graduate of Oak Mountain High School. He graduated from Auburn University, where he majored in mechanical engineering. He was a member of the Auburn Marching Band. He is employed as a consultant for Manhattan Associates in Atlanta. The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. May 31 at Quail Creek Resort in Hartselle.
Onstott-Powell
Miss Onstott is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Onstott of Clinton, Tenn., and John Edwin Bryant and the late Rosaline Shannon Bryant of Springfield. She is a 2001 graduate of Springfield High School. She graduated cum laude from Samford University in 2005. She earned a master's degree in elementary education in 2006. She is employed by Hoover City Schools as a fifth-grade teacher. Mr. Powell is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hoyt White and the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Powell, all of Five Points, Tenn. He is a 1999 graduate of Decatur High School. He graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2004. He is employed by Hoover City Schools as a sixth-grade teacher. The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. July 12 at Springfield Baptist Church in Springfield.
Mitchell-Richardson
Miss Mitchell is the granddaughter of Bob and Jan Plunkett of Tuscumbia and Dr. Kermit and Margaret Mitchell of Sheffield. She is a 2003 graduate of Mars Hill Bible School. She graduated magna cum laude from The University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in music/vocal performance. Mr. Richardson is the grandson of the late William and Dolly Richardson of Springfield, Tenn., and the late Homer A. and Imogene Hoffman of Gallatin, Tenn. He is a 2003 graduate of Austin High School. He graduated from The University of Alabama in December with a bachelor's degree in communication and information. He is employed by The Birmingham News. The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. May 24 at Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ in Florence.
Gregg-Billings
Miss Gregg is the granddaughter of Peggy and Larry Jones of Decatur, Anne Winton and the late Bonnie Jack Winton of Hartselle, and Leroy and Eileen Gregg of Northport. She is a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. She graduated magna cum laude from The University of Alabama. She is employed by Tuscaloosa County Schools System as a special education teacher. Mr. Billings is the grandson of Trudie Billings and the late Albert Billings of Northport. He is a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. He attended Shelton State Community College. He is employed by BF Goodrich. The wedding is planned for 6 p.m. May 31 at the Old South Fish and Hay Farm in Moundville.
Jackson-Thrasher
Parents of the couple are Jim and Phyllis Routson of Lenoir City, Tenn., David and Julie Jackson of Maryville, Tenn., and David and Theresa Thrasher of Hartselle. Miss Jackson is the granddaughter of the late Bob and Barbara L. Thompson of Farragut, Tenn., and Glen and Sarah Duncan of Knoxville. She is a graduate of Farragut High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. She is employed by Office Depot. Mr. Thrasher is a graduate of Athens Bible School and The University of North Alabama. He plans to receive a master's degree in American history in December 2008 from Middle Tennessee State University. He is employed by Walgreens. The wedding is planned for 5:30 p.m. June 26 in Brentwood, Tenn.
Chappell-Bussey
Miss Chappell is the granddaughter of Ronnie and Sue Chappell of Falkville and Don and Pat Armes of Decatur. She is home-schooled and expects to graduate in 2009 from Hope Christian School. She is employed at Chappell's Family Karate and Jujitsu. Mr. Bussey is the grandson of Arrine Bussey of Arizona. He is a home-schooled graduate of Bible Believers School. He is self-employed at Turfs R Us. The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 13 at Priceville Baptist Church.
Morris-Lindsey
Miss Morris is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Townsend of Fairview. She is a graduate of A.P. Brewer High School. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher at Fairview Elementary School. Mr. Lindsey is a graduate of A.P. Brewer High School. He is employed by Jack's Foodland in Eva as meat market manager. The wedding is planned for 3 p.m. June 21 at Center Grove Baptist Church in Cullman.
