Hartselle police take a man into custody on Vaughn Bridge Road near the old National Guard Armory today in connection with a bank robbery in Decatur.

Hartselle police have arrested two men suspected of being involved in an armed robbery at Peoples Bank on Beltline Road this afternoon.

Police said a man walked into the bank at about 2 p.m. with a handgun and demanded money, then left.

Police said witnesses gave a description of the man and his vehicle, a white Ford F-150. Hartselle police stopped a vehicle matching the description and arrested both of the vehicle’s occupants.

Nobody was hurt in the robbery.

Check back later today for updates.

Great plan!

He needed the money for weight watchers.

usually works if the police are not close by , today they caught these morons , they were very close when it happened

Who robs a bank located right in the middle of a speed trap? On a side note, that is a rather large mammal right there folks.

Go ahead on Big Mac!

Good job Hartselle PD. Keep em off the streets.

The look in the 3rd picture of officer looking at suspect trying to get in car is priceless. We need a bigger car.

Easy match for this dudes description.

I bet the “BIG GUY” did not go into the bank. He looks like the small version of the GOODYEAR BLIMP. Easy to pick this guy out of the line up.

The police need a truck.

Great! This pic of the big guy is guaranteed to be on Leno or Letterman show.

Looks like he could not bend over to tie his shoes.

Is that the governor of New Jersey?

He may have swallowed all the money!!!

He obviously didn't rob the bank to support a crack habit.

Wonder how many policement it took toget him out of the back seat when they reached the jail? They must have had 2 pulling him and 3 pushing him out. And I bet the front seats were pushed foreard as far as they would go. they needed a truck.
