4 Alabama football players kicked off team

TUSCALOOSA (AP) — Four Alabama players have been dismissed from the team following their arrests after two robberies on campus.

Alabama coach Nick Saban said Wednesday that linebackers D.J. Pettway and Tyler Hayes, safety Eddie Williams and H-back Brent Calloway of Russellville "are no longer associated with the football program."

Saban says the players' "actions do not reflect the spirit and character we want our organization to reflect."

Pettway, Williams and Hayes are charged with two counts of second-degree robbery. Williams and Calloway are charged with fraudulent use of a credit card.

Police said Williams confessed to robbing a student who was punched in the head and face and kicked in the ribs and back. Williams told police that Pettway and Hayes watched him commit another robbery from a nearby vehicle about an hour later.

All a part of the process when you over sign.

Breathe John.Let those feelings ease out of you. Let go of the hate.

John must be an Auburn fan, no thugs down there ?

John can't say anything about alabama with all those biggetts in hartselle. I know i live here.

What does over signing have to do with robbery?

Yup, everybody in Hartselle is a bigot. What does that make you Cindy?

I guess it makes her right Jay.

And a bigot.

Glad to hear Mr. Saban chose to chill those thugs out !

easy there john, if you piss off them red neck bammer fans they will kill your tree's......

Isn't it funny some one from somerville and decatur high calling people from Hartselle bigots!!? Hartselle doesn't own the monoply on bigots I can tell You that!

What did my comment have about bigotry? Me and Nick are both whites from WV!

I am surprised Auburn didn't file charges against Alabama after the beating they received in the 2012 IB.....

BILLY G . . . . now that's funny.

Well back to the story...... I think it was honorable that Mr. Saban took this action by doing so he has sent a message that he will not be controlled by the recruits, This also sets a higher standard for the future players at Alabama.

I say these things as a long time Auburn fan I do not hope that this will weaken his team so my team could take advantage of it because I would feel the same as if it were an Auburn coach that took this action as well. I'm Pround that the State of Alabama has two great college's, I personally would like to see all college's purge this type of players from their roster's and reward those that deserve it even if that person may not be as talented they should be the example instead of the exception.

I was raised in Hartselle, just happen to live in Somerville now. I was being sarcastic when I said everyone in Hartselle is a bigot and that it was ironic that here name says she's from Hartselle but calls "everyone" there a bigot. Hard to make that kind of joke on a forum though.
