CAPSHAW — An East Limestone High School senior and passersby rescued a Madison woman from a pond after a Monday morning wreck.

East Limestone students Anne Oliver, 18, and Emily Lane, 17, went to get breakfast before school. They were southbound on Capshaw Road when their car collided at about 8:09 with a van driven by Tina Sperry, 52, at East Mooresville Road.

The van went into a pond, while the car went into a ditch. Oliver and passersby pulled Sperry from the water.

No one was injured. State troopers and East Limestone Volunteer Fire Department worked the wreck.
