Ala. denied full court hearing on immigration law

ATLANTA (AP) — A federal appeals court has declined a request by the state of Alabama to reconsider a ruling on the state's tough law targeting illegal immigration.

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta on Tuesday issued an order declining the state's petition to have the full court review the decision of a three-judge panel in a challenge to the state's law brought by a coalition of groups and individuals.

The court last month rejected a similar request by the state on the panel's ruling on a challenge brought by the federal government.

The court did not give a reason for declining to rehear the case.

The court on Monday declined a similar request by the state of Georgia to reconsider a ruling on that state's illegal immigration crackdown.

Targeting illegal immigration?? Why don't we just say Targeting criminals because that is what it is. If you are here illegally, you are breaking the law. It is just that simple. Why would anyone in their right mind oppose laws to go after those who break the law?

and im sure you are just spic and span spotless, huh tony? a model citizen of exemplary conduct?

why dont you put yourself in the shoes of others for a minute. practice a little empathy, and imagine yourself in a 3rd world country, no food, no jobs, maybe some warfare or open violence, all kinds of nasty things. you gotta get out. and you will do anything to do so, or maybe just to try to make a better life for your kids. you cannot tell me you would not do the same.

next, check out the immigration process. check out the exorbitant amount of paperwork. check out the wait times. the insane hoops you have to jump through, the visits to various government offices in two countries. its enough to drive anyone insane. sometimes, people just say 'screw it, i've gotta go', and they go. ooo, what savages, huh tony? how dare they flout the many, many, MANY laws that cover this arcane field?

finally. next time you want to run your mouth about a topic you dont know, do some research first. or better yet, ask someone whos been through it all, like my mother. maybe then you might have the feelings of a decent human being in regards to others.

Wow James, ask the 2 families in Huntsville who lost their teenage children 2 years ago in an auto accident driven by an illegal immigrant that was drunk and see how they feel.

James why don,t you move to A third world country with them better Idea ! and take several hundred with you as you go. Especially the mexican mafia members and all their thug gang banger friends and all the ones filling every apartment with 2 blocks of our neighborhood and driving drunk through our neighborhood and stealing everything thats not nailed down just like the local thugs and druggies , you can have them all and enjoy them , but I suppose you live in a fine neighborhood with good neighbors and no crime or have to put up with any of them ?

Yes there are good ones , but number one they are breaking the law by being here Ilegally and we only get the bad ones

Both of you ignorant rednecks are the reason why the rest of the world looks on US citizens as fat, lazy, ignorant savages. Because you are.

Yes, I have lived in a third world country. But I was born here, so this is my country too. Get used to it.

James, before you start calling redneck pal, I myself I lived in a third world country called IRAQ, understand where I am coming from. I have led soldiers in combat and you have never sacrificed and seen lives taken in the casualty of war if you are spouting your pitiful me story. My family goes back generations in Morgan County and I will not surrender MY COUNTRY to an illegal. Get used to it!

Well I guess the police should stop looking for the bank robber of numerous banks! After all I'm sure he is just trying to make a better life for his kids!!!!! I see nothing wrong with that. May his kids have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

What a bunch of ignorant racism :(

i agree with Roger, let one slide & get away with breaking a law, then why not others? its all in the same. it is still a law regardless of why a law is broken. thats why we have them, why stoop to as low as to call names? only shows your maturity level.
