ABBEVILLE (AP) — A reserve deputy from southeast Alabama is facing charges of being in the United States illegally, and a sheriff isn't happy about it.
Federal court records show 46-year-old Kevin Dwight Venhuis of Abbeville is charged with being an illegal immigrant and possessing firearms without proper U.S. citizenship.
Henry County Sheriff William Maddox says Venhuis has been a reserve deputy for 25 years, but he is also a Canadian citizen. Venhuis was married to a U.S. citizen.
Maddox tells the Dothan Eagle that Venhuis' citizenship became an issue because he got a divorce. He was arrested Monday at a traffic stop.
Maddox disagrees with the charges, and he's upset over the arrest. Venhuis performs valuable computer work for the sheriff's department for free.

Just think that the Governor of Nevada who's name is Sandoval and was born here could drive through Arizona and be held in jail until he proves citizenship. Oh and by the way he was also a state judge lol lol you gotta love it.
Or any legal hispanic police officer could hold you in jail and tell you to prove your citizenship!
Law is the law, right?
