Check performing on the Grammy Awards off Brittany Howard's bucket list.
The lead singer of the Athens-based Alabama Shakes will join Zac Brown, Mavis Staples and Elton John in the Grammy's tribute to Levon Helm. The tribute will be part of the "In Memoriam" segment. A member of The Band, Helm died last April from throat cancer. Along with performing, Howard and her Alabama Shakes bandmates are nominated for best new artist, best rock performance for "Hold On" and best recording package for "Boys & Girls."
The 55th annual Grammy Awards will air live on WHNT-19 at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The band will appear on "Austin City Limits" and "Saturday Night Live" on Feb. 16.
