Sad thing is.....I bet coaching is all they're gonna do. Go throw money at a football coach when you could probably hire 2, maybe 3 teachers for the price its gonna take to get 1 football coach. You've already got coaches at the school, promote them and give them their stipend.

Exactly, Judy! Also, it is time that AHS turns it football program around. They need to be a competitive 6A team. They have good athletes. They just need the right leadership.
and if you think that the money football generates goes to the schools and education.....then I got some oceanfront property in Tennessee I want to sell you!!

Chrystal, Football ticket sales are the primary revenue that is generated for the football program. Football coaches teach our children also. Football teaches a lot of lessons that cannot be learned in a classroom. Football also generates a lot of revenue for the band program because all concession sales from the games go to the bands, both Decatur High and Austin High for each game.
Angie, I'm not sure what you are thinking or what your problem is but I think you need help. Football is not a bunch of perverts running around touching each other on the butts. Football is a program that if it is ran by the right people can teach young men about life’s lessons. Sports in general if led by the right people can build leaders with morals and character. And God knows in today’s society we could use more young men and women with these attributes.

Teachers do not bring in money for the school. Football coaches do. If you dont want a football program go to a private school.
