Unless the family pushes this issue, the Dept. of Public Health aka "STATE" will determine it "not founded". How in the world could DPD ask the coroner to make a cause of death, the woman was in the hospital and the doctor would be the one to determine that cause! Really DPD? Cause of death was pneumonia. When the woman fell into the water she aspirated and it sat up pneumonia, her immune system couldn't fight it, and she passed! Was this the fault of Country Cottage? ABSOLUTELY!!! When conducting a fire drill someone should have been outside with the residents. But instead, Country Cottage has one worker per building! Country Cottage also has a protocol if a worker finds a resident not breathing after 5pm, call the pager, whomever is on call has 2 minutes to call back, if they do not call back in 2 minutes, then the worker can call 911 without first obtaining consent!!!!! That's BS too! If you find someone not breathing, dial 911 and start CPR! But I bet Country Cottage does not tell anyone this is procedure out there!!!!!!! They need to be SHUT DOWN, FINED BY THE STATE, AND SUED BY THE FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Herman, it's ASSISTED care. You are supposed to be able to care for yourself with assistance to live there. If the woman couldn't care for herself, WITH ASSISTANCE, she shuold have been in a nursing home. In a NURSING home, she would not have been left in her wheelchair. These things happen. SHEESH!

No First "these things don't just happen.....Yes, it is an assisted living, but at one point and time they had a blind lady living there that couldn't dress herself, toilet herself, or even walk down the hall by herself. It's called getting "rent money" for the rooms. Not every person out there is qualified for "assisted" living! And would you be saying "sheesh" if this was your mother or grandmother? I don't think so! She should have never been left outside without ASSISTANCE!
