I like how D.U. Will request stuff to the council and it is automatically approved. It's almost like the council have family working for DU.. Hmmmmm. Is this not unethical?

Rebecca. - What an uninformed comment! Perhaps you really dont want to be bothered with facts, but for the sake of discussion, do you have any knowledge at all about these projects? Based on your comment I guarantee that you don't. So many commenters like you get off by throwing out baseless shots at DU and other entities. I see frequent criticism of DU for not operating as efficiently as some think they should. It seems to me that one of the most important indicators of this would be utility rates. I challenge you to find any utility in Alabama with lower overall rates. They have the lowest electric, gas and water rates in the state. We all realize that you can make wild accusations on this site while hiding behind your anonymity, but perhaps you should educate yourself in the future before spewing ignorance.

The only ignorance I know is District 2's councilman is over / liaison to Decatur Utilities and he happens to have a son that works for Decatur Utilities andI feel that is a conflict of interest when he votes on what D.U. wants done. The same with District 1's coucilmans brothers working for the fire department and him being liaison to the fire department. It just doesn't seem right to me Decatur. These councilmen should give up these liaison spots to someone else on the council who has no family members working for the city. Spew that buddy.

Tell him, Rebecca. Seems like DEcatur from Decatur doesn't have the facts.

If you will check the "FACTS", I think BJ had the Fire Dept removed from his liasons last term. Speaking of last term, it is now over; this is a new term. Rumor has it that Hammon will be DU contact. Doubt that BJ will get DFD back, in my opinion. I am not defending Anders, but his son has to work somewhere. If his son got no advantage from his participation, there there is nothing wrong. I agree that it does breed suspicion.

if DU is so bad, i beg you to swap to joe wheeler with me, i will be more than willing to let you pay my joe wheeler & ill pay your DU. SAME WITH WATER BILL, wm/el water auth will rip you a new one with their rates

Funny how the Anders boy was hired within the first year of Ander's first year on the council.
