Activist? At what is she an activist? I've never heard of her.

Then you have not been paying attention or at least for for very long.

Earns his salary in Decatur but lives in Madison? Why not live where you earn your money?

Great point Ben, but you will find that very common in Decatur. This not only is true in many churches, but in municipal jobs and at the industrial plants.

So at what point does it matter where he earns his money? I live in Decatur and earn my money in Huntsville. If you would like people to earn their money in Decatur, that would mean jobs need to be available in Decatur! And Charles, why would that be important enough for you a rep. to comment on? There are hundreds of people that work in another area, but live in Decatur. How is that a GREAT POINT?

heart warming

most of the people that work in Decatur do not even live in Decatur. William - where have you been for many years. Doris has been a activist for as long as I can remember here in Decatur.

What kind of activist?

They can indeed work together as long as everyone does everything exactly like Obama wants it.

William, I am assuming you have not lived here long if you do not know Ms. Baker. Do not question her place in Decatur History just because you are not familiar with her.

Doris is a Rights Activist!

Many cities require you live in the area where you work. It's a shame when you work in a city and a chance for promotion to a top job goes out in an add to fill it. So many from out of state apply instead of promoting within, It shatters moral for a lot of these people working hard to get to the top. It doesn't seem right, If you don't have qualified people to take top jobs, it would mean to me that they are not qualified to do the job they are doing now.

What has Baker done? I'm just asking.

William - there is plenty to be found about Ms. Baker if you search. She is and has been a vocal member of the NW community for many, many years. She ran, albiet unsuccessfully for local office. I know Doris personally and believe that her heart is in the right place. She makes many valid points, but most of the time, her delivery needs a bit of work.
