CONGRATS TO BILLY JACKSON. HE WON WITHOUT HAVING TO SLANDER

HIS OPPONENTS NAME.

Billy Jackson is by far the only honest and straight forward man on the council!!!!! Congratulations Billy on a good, CLEAN, HONEST campaign!!! So glad that our neighborhood fell into your district this year!! Looking forward to having you as our represenative. Best Wishes for a positive , productive term!!!!

More of the same: Nothing. I think I'm going to puke!

"representative"

(correction on typo earlier) ;) Have a great day!!!

I feel sorry for the folks in district 1. They deserved much better. Billy has not done anything for them. His supporters should start coming to the council meetings and demanding more for him. What a waste!

I figured with the fact that Billy never comes to work sessions and pitches such a hissy fit, the Northwest residents wouldn't put him back in office. I guess they can't think for themselves though.

Four more years of driving down Prospect drive near Decatur high school with my tires bouncing off the road, four years of title loans blanketing 6th. Ave, four more years of taxing more to get more sewers to no where, four more years of being liason to departments of where their kin folks work, four more years of bickering and moaning and groaning, four more years holding Decatur back, and four more years of good ole boys! Great! Way to go Decatur!

WTF Decatur residents?

Why in the hell did we return to the same old - same old when this city could have started over fresh with new candidates and new visions. But hell no Decatur residents are so freaking complacent that the majority did not even practice the one single basic right and that was to vote. The masses decided to stay in their houses and not vote. I cannot understand this and probably never will.

So I don't want to see any bitching in the Decatur Daily because you just got exactly what you deserved, more of the same old bunch of good old boys who are shaking your hand and stealing your wallet with the other one.

Those that did not vote you disgust me; to those who did thank you for exercising your right to vote.

This town is unbelievable! Does change and progress scare y'all that much? You're just sheep, a bunch of lemmings following each other off the cliff to your doom.

I was hoping for a brighter future with new blood on the city council instead we get the same old pieces of crap that was there 4 years ago.

The one good thing that came out of this election is that the incumbent mayor is gone.

I agree with Decatur from Decatur plus 30% voter turnout , Sad.

Every so often, we hear the rhetoric of somebody's "vision" for Decatur. Often, that vision turns out to be our worst nightmares. The facts are that the majority of new ideas were baseless, unfunded, poorly thought out, and promoted by an incredibly cluelss small vocal crowd. EXAMPLE: If you build it - they will come. How dumb! Go ahead, build a 10 unit upscale complex and see how fast it becomes a rundown facility because no one changed the basic incentives to live here.

Somebody DID build an upscale condo building on the river, and it sold out in record time.
