Couldn't hurt (the economy). Free money always helps. Some day, if we live long enough, we'll die poor and without medical coverage, given the rate of entitlement spending.
As soon as the Medicaid Expansion presentation is over the democrats will sponsor a "How to raise taxes" presentation.
In 2020 our state will be on the hook for 10% of Medicaid funding. Since the feds are giving us 12 billion dollars for "free" that amounts to over one billion dollars out of our general fund which amounts to 1.8 billion dollars in 2012. So 50-60 % of our budget will have to go to funding Medicaid in six years. And thats if the feds keep their promise. Yes many Alabamians will greatly benefit. Hell, even I will benefit. So life is good as long as someone else pays. So pass me some moussaka and some zatziki sauce and let me wash it down with some ouzo. Really Bentley is an idiot for taking a pass on the free Title Max money!
