Funeral services for former Decatur City Attorney Abraham Jordan "A.J." Coleman III will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
Coleman died Thursday. He was 84. He was city attorney for 25 years.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Berryhill Funeral Home directing.
Coleman is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Braswell Coleman; son Brian L. Coleman and wife,
Nancy H. Coleman; daughter Melissa C. Enslen and husband, Alan F. Enslen; and his sister, Anne C. Crane and husband, Gil Crane.
He was co-captain of Decatur High School’s football team his senior year. He received his bachelor's degree from Auburn before graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1953.
At his retirement, he was senior partner in the firm of Coleman & Sedlak.
