is it really necessary to publish non elected workers "exact salary" in the paper? I mean jeez.... give them some privacy. It'd be ok to publish the "pay range" that positions (not people by name) are paid. but why invade their personal financial privacy?
.
How about the Daily publish the exact salaries of what all the reporters make?
Bob. Your ignorance is showing. Salaries of public employees are public information. And they should be. If you add up the salaries and benefits, they'd better add up to the budgeted cost. It's all available for any taxpayer to check. That's the law. Yould you like the government to be able to hide that info? Look what happened in Bell, CA. When someone got around to checking, they found out that the city manager had been getting 4 MILLION dollars a year for over a DECADE!!. If you want to keep your salary private, don't take a civil service job.
