Beason's a fool.

Beason's a fool.

SB286, read the bill for yourself. Blakely is using scare tactics on you. There is nothing scary about giving the people the freedoms that have been chipped away from them over decades. In every state that have relaxed gun laws, the politicians and law enforcement officers in those states have cried about "the streets will run red with blood", and "It will return us to the wild west". Yet, in every case, their predictions have turned out to be false. The states with the most firearms freedoms are consistently the states with the lowest crime rates. And Beason had a total of 16 co sponsors between this bill and the last. Republicans and Democrats both.

Blakely is by all accounts a egotistical jerk. He loves power an scaring you to get it is nothing to him.

This bill is nonsense because Alabama is an open carry state. Unless you are a convicted felon who isn't allowed to carry a firearm openly, it is not illegal to open carry a firearm. http://www.opencarry.org/?page_id=176

You are right John that it is not illegal. That has not stopped law agencies from arresting people on disorderly conduct charges. This bill addresses that. Did you read the bill, John? It covers much more than clarifying open carry.
