Hall new Hartselle mayor; Roberson, Doss win council seats

Don Hall won the election for mayor in Hartselle today.

According to complete, but unofficial returns, Hall defeated political newcomer Johnnie Howell 1,257 (55 percent) to 1,024.

In the council races, Mike Roberson defeated Glenn McGann 1,269 to 917 for the Place 3 seat and Kenneth “Ken” Doss beat Franklin D. Turney 1,420 to 760.

The winners take office Nov. 5 and will join incumbents Kenny Thompson, Bill Smelser and Tom Chappell who won in August without runoffs.
