A Hartselle branch of Bank Independent was robbed Friday night for the second time this week, and police said the same man could be responsible for both crimes.
The Friday incident occurred about 7:55 when a man approached the drive-through window on foot, told tellers he had a gun and demanded money, according to a release from Hartselle police.
He left on foot after receiving an unknown amount of money.
Police said today that the suspect is described as a white man 30 to 40 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 180 pounds. He was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes. He had his face and head covered with what appeared to be a T-shirt.
He appeared to be bald or have a receding hairline and has dark eyebrows and dark eyes.
The branch on U.S. 31 South was also robbed Tuesday night. Hartselle police have released surveillance photos and ask anyone with information to call them at 256-773-6534.

As much as I love Bank Independent it may be wise to close this branch at 5 pm instead of 8pm.
I'll bet the robber lives in the apartment complex right behind the bank!!!
I would fire the teller!! Geez you gave him money through the window!???
This smells like a carp.
Stick em' up! Then DUCK! He is outside and the teller inside...DUUUUUUUUH!
The teller was probably scared to death..you don't know what you would do in that situation UNTIL you're in that situation.
Hey Lacie...DUCK! It ain't like it was the first time this week.
VERY FUNNY THE ROBBER WAS GIVEN MONEY THRU A DRIVE THRU WINDOW. COULD THE TELLER BE INVOLVED?
The teller was probably doing as they were trained to do. Most banks train tellers to cooperate with any bank robber in order to reduce the risk of injury or gun fire.
but once again I state he was outside the building , how was this a risk
I don't know about the robber but I do know I have several HANDGUNS that will penetrate bullet proof glass. Not saying the robber has that kind of firepower but you never know. I'm sure the teller did as he/she was instructed. The teller could lose their job if they just "ducked". That's the kind of world we live in today. If it was my wife or children on the other side of that glass I would sure hope they would do exactly what the teller did. Glad to see the armchair detectives are sitting high and mighty at their computers passing their "judgements" on to the masses. Someone needs to get this guy off the street before he kills someone.
why was he not given a dye bomb ?
FIrst, with ATM machines and night-drop chutes, I can't see why the bank would need to be open so late. At the least, the bank could apply a one-way film to the window so that a person walking up to the window could not see inside the bank. (Persons using a drive-through are not expecting eye contact.) Second, if it's truly "an unknown amount of money," then the bank's bookkeeping is a bit sloppy. (I imagine the DD meant "an undisclosed amount of money.") Finally, while I can sympathize with a teller so frightened he/she could think of no alternative but compliance, if a person walked up to the closed/locked window of my home and demanded money, I'd move away from the window, out of sight, and call the police.
