Have race relations improved?
Nearing end of Obama's term: Many opinions, no consensus

Associated Press
Ask Americans how race relations have changed under their first black president and they are ready with answers. Ashley Ray, a white woman, hears more people debating racial issues. "I know a … More »

They may have improved nationally but locally I still have to deal with the same racism as I always have. The commenters on this website have always been racist. When i walk into a store in the mall i always get more looks than somebody else walking in. I think another 4 years of Obama will help the situation though. Vote Obama!

I wouldn't vote for Obama if he was the only person running! He has done NOTHING for this country. Blacks blamed white presidents on all of their problems all these years. They got their black president and guess what, it's the same 'ol, same 'ol. The answer is for everyone, no matter what color they are, to get off of their butts and start working for what you need and want and to quit looking for handouts and the easy way out! The color of the next president shouldn't matter, it's what he stands for and is willing to do for the benefit of the country as a whole that matters, not what he can do for one particular race.

Maybe if Obama had recognized his caucasion heritage the same way he acknowledges his African heritage race relations could have improved instead racism seems to be more rampant than ever & violence has exploded all across America. We need to focus on bringing America back to being one nation under God instead of a country being ruled by the president & his wife. This is supposed to be a democracy run by people we have elected to represent us not a dictarship run by one that is a control freak.

If anybody questiones my posts please reference the above posts from T & Laurie.

What? They didn't say anything racist. They simply stated the fact and you immediately want to scream racism. Northwest, you are the one that's looking at color all of the time. It's your bigotry and your hatred of the whites that keep you from seeing the real truth.

Amen - - ted I don,t care what color you are if you are a hateful bigot racist , you are what you are , I have done nothing to anyone of any color and I get treated like crap by blacks, hispanics and some whites , even a few Asians and treat everyone the same - If you respect me I respect you , treat me like I,m a second class person I,ll treat you the same , cuss me I,ll cuss you , rob me , or burglarize me or steal from me I,ll shoot you if I have the chance - but I,m not a racist - I don,t owe anybody regardless of race or color anything nor am I going to bow down to you because you think you are somebody - We are all equal , when you figure this out you will be a heck of a lot better off , Instead of expecting to be treated special because of your color or genetic background - I expect nothing and will give nothing. You respect me and my property and my rights I,ll respect you , short of that you can hang it up
