Krystal murder defendants in court for pre-trial hearing today

Three defendants charged with capital murder in the slayings of two Krystal restaurant employees will be in Morgan County Circuit Court today for a pre-trial hearing.

Circuit Judge Glenn Thompson will have more than 30 motions to consider that have been filed by attorneys for Jordaan Creque, 22, Cassandra Eldred, 23, and Ezekiel Gholston, 21, who are incarcerated in the county jail.

The motions vary from asking the court to dismiss indictment charges to severing the trials of the defendants.

Creque, Eldred and Gholston are accused of killing a night shift manager and an employee on Aug. 24, 2011, at the Decatur restaurant.
