Of course the ABC agents were involved, he r boyfriend works there...DUH!

Thor, what does that have to do with anything? ABC agents would be involved regardless. Some of you people seemed determined to make every story into tabloid material. I am glad she is out there doing this because it seems she has already done more about the drug problem then the previous sheriff did during his entire term. The only problem is that we have some lawyers and soft judges that keep getting these people released back to the streets with very little punishment.

They bust up a Counterfeiting operation and head line reads "drug raid on Sheriff's birthday!" Great work DD!

How dare she have a birthday the same day as 2 raids........."overachiever".

Great job Ana and deputies who worked the raids and didn't get to have cake and ice cream!

Fabulous job Ana , when you get time finish cleaning out our neighborhood -- thanks for the good job you are doing and I have already wished you happy birthday , I hope it was a good one

It seems to me that the only ones that would complain about this is the one being affected negativly ie the problem

MOST OF THE STUPID COMMENTS COME FROM POEPLE THAT DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO VOTE OR MOST OF THEM ARE STRICTLY FIRST CLASS BEAD BEATS. JESUS CHRIST COULD'NT EVEN SATISFY THEM

Good job Sheriff !!

Amen Calhoun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What the article did not mention is that when the officers executed the warrant at the Cedar Lake Road apartment, they shot and killed a sweet Golden Retriever named Aubie. The dog barked at the officers entering the residence. According to a witness, the dog did not attack, only barked. The police need to have procedures in place for dealing appropriately with pets when they enter a premises.

I wished they would concentrate of the break ins more.. there have been several around here but nothing has been done.. some of the people have gotten out and run down some of their guns... but nothing is being donw about that either.

Funny, neither this article nor the police report filed on the Cedar Lake Road raid mention the fact that deputies executed a dog or that they opened fire in an apartment complex where people not involved in the raid could have been injured. From what I'm hearing the man whose dog was killed served three tours of duty in Iraq and suffers from PTSD. The dog was reportedly given to him by the military to help with his PTSD. On the Morgan Co. sheriffs Dept. Facebook page people are speaking out against this raid that killed the dog. The original post on that page about this raid was removed because the cowards with badges can't take the heat when called upon to answer publicly for what they did. No one is buying their line that the dog attacked them. I will be talking to the dogs owner later today and organizing both a public protest and media involvement. This man was obviously using marijuana for his PTSD. Is this how we want our veterans treated?

Could a reporter with the Decatur Daily please contact the dogs owner and get his side of the story?

I did not vote for Ana Franklin but aside from a couple of personnel gaffs, I've been impressed with her overall performance as sheriff. I would vote for her re should she decide to run for re-election.

Loretta, last time I checked medicinal marijuana is ILLEGAL in Alabama! Clean up your own city before coming to ours!!!

Set bail at 1 million to 500k and they would stay in jail

because all they have to come up with is 10% to get with a bail bondman!
