Cost is unknown. Scary thought.
Scarier yet, why do we need an annex? We just built a jail & the county hasn't grown much! This is all about housing more federal prisoners at Morgan County resident's expense. Look beyond the "income" for housing the federal prisoners. Why do Morgan County residents have to pay the infrastructure costs when we really have the room. Let the federal prisoners go elsewhere. Also, won't this additional development help flood Lee Street? The county should allocate its' recources to help county residents reach its' courthouse safely! They should help with drainage problems on Lee Street.
when you get all their cousins in there , it takes up a lot of space , the crime rate has sky rocketed with the proliferation of all our lovely new city inhabitants. If the judges did not turn 60% of them loose to commit crimes over and over it probably would already be full
so the Sheriff is making money housing federal inmates and state inmates.
.
then the citizens of morgan county have to pay to build another jail, so she/he can make more money?
.
to me, this is a local taxpayer funded "jail for profit" system.
