The city has received and approved construction plans that indicate Hartselle will get a new Dollar General soon, Director of Development Jeff Johnson said. The new 9,000-plus square-foot store will be located on Alabama 36 near I-65 on a 1.3 acre plot between Redstone Federal Credit Union and Cowboy’s Gas Station. The store will have 7,195 square feet of retail sales area with a carbon gutter parking lot to accommodate 36 cars, Johnson said. It will be the second Dollar General located in Hartselle. Broadway Groups, Southern Developers, LLC confirmed they are doing the construction at the site. So far, they have mobilized site work equipment and have put it place erosion control protection, as seen above. “We hope to soon see the reshaping of the site for the new store,” Johnson said.
