It's 8:18 and there are not any results posted in the 'wonderful" decatur daily on the election, the daily is useless, outdated and on a death watch, the sooner the better.

Patrick -- You are still subscribed!! :)

no!!!!!!!!!!!

Click on the Morgan button on the top of the home page and you will see results.

I don't think Stanford wanted to win.

Martha, you men on 2820 people voted??????

maybe they can get the results from the Huntsville times in time for their "used" reported somewhere else first, newpaper tomorrow.

LAME-DUCK DON! BYE BYE STANDFORD, BYE BYE!! MOVE HIM OUT, SEND HIM HOME, CHECK HIS POCKETS AND TAKE BACK HIS PARKING PASS -- HE'S HEADIN' TO THE HOUSE, GONNA BE CRUISIN THE COUCH, KEEPIN' HIS DUMB AT HOME -- OH, YEAH!!

Give it a rest people.....It won't be long and you will be hating the new mayor. That is why a new mayor is elected every 4 years. You guys are never satisfied with what you have!

People have spoken. Worst Mayor of Decatur got what he deserved. Even Walmart would not have hired him to greet customer at entrance.

Reply to Mossy Oak,

Now we know atleast one who voted to ex Mayor & got burn.

New mayor won't solve this city's problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mossy Oak is Standford's kid, so he is one of the 18 votes that LAME-DUCK got. GO COLE!!

Considering that this council and mayor will have been unlawfully elected against the wishes of Decatur's citizens to have a manager-3 council person type government, will any ordinances they pass be enforcible in court?

John from HARTSELLE has a valid point. Anders, Hammond, & Kirby voted to ignore the people wishes. But, they were re-elected, so no matter what happens, they will continue to work behind the scenes to keep a City Mgr out. Sad, but true.

Golly, what a whipping.

WHAT is that whimpering noise?? Is that Standford under his desk hanging onto the drawer latches sobbing?? Poor smuck, they'll have to pry his clueless white hands off of the furniture in Kyle or Cole's Office.

As Standford goes down in defeat by a historic margin, the people of Decatur begin to see hope again - they being to envision a Mayor with functioning cognitive skills and the ability to walk, chew gum, and formulate simple and rudementary responses to questions posed by the Kindergarten class at which he just spoke. He will hopefuly return later to answer their questions, after Wally explains them to him and tell him the answers. At least we've still got Mayor Terry!

GO GOLE!!

I live just outside the city limits of Decatur, so I don't get a vote. I also don't know any of the mayoral candidates personally. With that said, I never understood why Don Kyle was not re-elected and why Stanford was elected. Kyle seemed to be doing a good job from where I was sitting. I heard that Stanford got elected because he rubbed lots of elbows and knew lots of people, especially the right kind of people. However, many of those that voted for him the first time discovered that just because they knew the guy, and thought he was a nice guy, did not translate to him being a good mayor.

The fact that Kyle got the most votes, being one term removed, tells me that Decatur voters either are a confused bunch of folks. If Kyle was doing a good job, why did he not get re-elected last time? If he was not doing a good job, why did he receive the most votes this time, just 6% away from getting the majority?
