I do so enjoy these uplifting Spirit-filled articles that Mr. Evans writes.........NOT!! I refuse to call him a pastor or preacher. He is more political than spiritual and always shows his extreme liberal views on religion.
EXCELLENT article.
Very surprised at the above comment....after all, a pastor couldnt BE more political than Pat Robertson is, or have more "extreme" views....
You know Pastor Evans, and I do use the title loosely, maybe you should read the Bible that you are so quick to quote...what does it say about false teachers?
SEEMS TO ME THE WRITER IS MORE SELF SERVING THAN GOD SERVING. INSTEAD OF BLASTING SOMEONE WITH OPPOSITE POLITICAL VIEWS WHY ISNT HE TELLING US WHAT HE HAS DONE--IS GONNA DO OR WANTS TO DO WITH WHATEVER HE IS CONCERNED ABOUT. LOOKS LIKE THE DD IS REACHING OUT FOR SUPPORT. IM SURE GOD IS JUST AS ANGRY WITH THESE COMMENTS AS THE WRITER CLAIMS HE IS WITH ROBERTSON---WHO ALSO GOES OVERBOARD. BRING ON THE TOILET PAPER.
Look at today's news, you Robertson supporters, he has gaffed again-bigtime, on Haiti. Dr. Evans speaks truth, I wish there were more like him. I would be glad to call him my pastor.
Evans hides behind religion to promote his political views and he uses the Bible to promote his own agenda. I have never come across someone who claims to know Christ yet has so much hatred in his heart. I feel sorry for those who continue in his congregation. Kind of reminds me of a church in Chicago where Obama attended.
There are more then one breed of wolves and it amazing me how someone can so often write articles about judging others and not realize when he is doing just that. I am not agreeing with Pat Robinson's comments but I am not going to use the pages of a secular newspaper to create strife between bothers and sisters in Christ. Paul taught strongly against that as well as Christ Himself.
Rev. Wayne Stover
i really dont understand how the above can disagree with this article. Well said Mr. Evans. Peace be with you.
Every one of the above commenters who criticizes The Rev. Evans fails to refute a sinlge specific point he makes (like lack of compassion for poverty-stricken children or those maimed or killed by war, or opposition to same-sex marriage). Instead, they use the ad hominem argument.
Robert W: Rather than The Rev. Evans using the Bible to promote his own political agenda, as you claim, isn't it possible, even likely, that his political agenda is determined by his devotion to and interpretation of Scripture? He cites clear axamples, which you do not refute.
Ben: As a pastor, it is The Rev. Evans' duty to point out what he perceives as wolves in sheep's clothing. But I am so glad you are "sure God is just as angry with these comments"; apparently you have been attending the year-end retreats with The Rev. Pat. :)
Rev. Wayne: I do not remember where in the Bible Paul or Jesus says not to discuss differences in secular newspapers. I do recall James acting as an agent of reconciliation when there were disputes among the early Christians of Jewish and Gentile backgrounds. :)
