Penalty? Tax? Who cares?
The battle between leaders of the Republican and Democratic parties over whether the Affordable Care Act is partially financed by taxes proves only one thing: They think the people have no … More »

It is a Tax, i.e., another broken promise by the BigO. I don't want to pay this tax. We pay enough taxes. THIS IS THE POINT! Libbie-Eric just can't stop gushing over the most recent decison by the Libbie-SCOTUSites.

Either way Its another step toward socialism that is ruining whats left of this country........

Makes me wonder WHO will be paying the "taxes included in the law, most imposed on companies that will benefit from the fact that our health care system now will service a much larger percentage of Americans" ? Let me venture a guess and say it WILL NOT be the insurance companies, but the policy holders of those companies. You and me. Instead of my premiums going down as promised, they have increased in a pre-emptive strike on the increase in cost they will incur. But who really cares if I pay more as long as liberal socialists are happy spreading other peoples money around?

Affordable health care is probably not going to be appropriate health care, especially if it is run by the IRS. I am surprised people think you can get something for nothing. Tax those making over $250 k? Guess what, they will make $249 k. Tax businesses with >50 employees? They will have 49 employees. What you will see is less revenue to the government, lower quality care, and longer waiting for care. The triple constraint of time, money, and scope of work will not be nullified no matter what you call this.

Obamacare stands as a TAX according to SCOTUS. It's ironic that a newspaper would argue that words and their meaning are irrevelant. After the libs gloated about the ruling, they realized taxes can be repealed and the medicaid expansion can be turned down by the states without penalty. They're in panic mode and have sent the socialist troops talking points....such as quit calling obamacare...obamacare.And don't call the tax...a tax.And BTW 8.5 million has already been taken from obamacare funds to open free clinics for "migrant" workers...legal status won"t be checked.

There comes a time when we must say NO to the government. That time is now!

Another very biased sounding editorial by the Daily. Also very full of opinion without much substance to it. I like to her facts and stats to back up an opinion or a disagreement to an opinion. Not once did the editor tell us how this is better for us all. I also like how the editor describes those that do not want to pay for insurance as "reckless". So, using your freedom to spend your money as you like, instead of being forced to purchase something you don't want, is now considered a reckless act by the Daily?

The editor does try to make you believe that healthcare would be totally funded by this tax/penalty, which we all know is not fiscally possible. Everybody, regardless if you have private insurance or not, will have to pay more taxes to fund this program. We are trillions in debts, but starting another huge, resource intense, government program. I am sure that I am not the only person who is scratching their head at this notion.

As far as government run healthcare goes, I don't understand why people would want the government to do such a thing. Just go ask somebody that has to rely on the VA or Medicare how well the government runs those programs.

Romneycare is Constitutional!

It' all about more government control of our lives...end of ztory.

Get over it! If the Republicans had passed the bill you people would be praising the bill as wonderful.

Get ready for the death panels to ration health care, especially for the elderly....Its in the bill....Of course Obama already has a solution for the unborn....

Remember the shellacking of 2010? Get ready for son-of-shellacking!!!!

Peter, you're an idiot

yes peter you are an idiot, move north and join a union, so as your being taxed to death, you can also pay union dues to the OTHER thugs that arent in the whitehouse, Oh wait I bet you dont work at all!! Your a great benefactor of the demogods
