Thank you Ms. Jones, you are an inspiration to us all. May God bless you !

“I shot three times,” Jones said, “and he ran away hollering.”

Way to go Ms. Jones!

Get ready for a story on gun control in The Decatur Daily...We need more Ms. Jones' in America.

“I was a nervous wreck,” Jones said. “The dispatcher kept telling me to put the gun down, but I was scared, and I didn’t know if he might be laying outside.”

Ms.Jones did the right thing keeping her gun ready after she shot the punk. She has made Decatur proud of her courage and for not becoming a statistic and thank god for our 2nd Amendment rights guarantee of an individuals right to bear arms applies to state and local gun control laws, the Supreme Court recently ruled in a 5-to-4 decision. Sadly that's how close we came to losing those rights.Just one more radical liberal on the Supreme Court and Ms.Jones would likely become a victim.

She should have emptied the gun into him! They willing to steal I am willing to kill!

Mrs. Jones did the right thing. I would hope that I could have just shot him in the foot, and run him off. It is sad that we have kids like Bynum running around stealing then going to prison. The other story, on Pre-K, is one place to start.

You go girl....The little punk shouldn't have been on the street anyway....When are our judges going to sentence this scum to prison instead of giving them probation?

What a brave woman Mrs. Jones is! Thank God she did have her gun close or no telling what might have happened.

I hope Decatur Daily don't start the "gun control articals". With gun control the only ones handing in the guns is the law abiding citizens. You better know the thugs will hold on to theirs. Now you have them in control knowing that anywhere they go it's safe to go in, pull a gun and take or do what ever they want. Not everyone lives in gated communities with security systems like the politicians pushing for the gun control. It is our right to have our weapons and we should keep it. Vote those in favor of gun control out.

Thank God you had a gun Mrs. Jones because there is no telling what he would have done to you. I hope this is a lesson to those who think women are an easy target.

We don't like to be put through things like this but we will protect ourselves. I hope this is a lesson to others who think they can get away with breaking into our homes. We are tired of it and are not going to put up with thugs invading our homes.

Bust a cap grandma

Good for you Mrs. Jones. If everyone would take her lead, there would be fewer break-ins. She should have empitied it on his butt...

The onlly bad side to this story is he went to the hospital instead of the funeral hoome.

WAY TO GO PISTOL PACKING MA....

This is a testament to the effectiveness of the 2nd amedment.

The only real issue I have with this pistol packing gradma ia that she did not shoot him in he head!!!!!!!!

If this home intruder lived only 200 yards away,he surely knew she was home and didn't have a car.Who knows what his intent was. There's something all the time in the papers of robbery, rape, beatings, hostages, burning homes and drug crimes. Its scary to sit on the front porch now after dark.TV shows highlight these crimes and how its done ,but how often do they show them confronted and shot dead or wounded.I'm so proud and thankful of the example Pistol Packin Mama set for home invaders here .And I hope the police keep "this fortunate to be alive intruder" under close surveilance when he is out on parole that he don't have retaliation intentions. Thank God we have good gun laws in Alabama !
