Sorry Kyle. You had a chance to do a good job the first time and you did not. We voted you out for a reason. I guess some people have forgotten.

Jimmy must live in Billy Jackson's district because 4 of the 5 districts wanted Kyle back in office again.

He won 4 of the 5 districts because we did not have a visionary like Cole running 4 years ago.

" I think I’m the best choice this city has had for mayor in a long time." Give me a break. How arrogant is this guy. He didn't get near as much accomplished as Don Stanford. But he takes credit for everything that has ever happened here. He doesn't even answer the questions. They asked about the art college and he starts talking about Archer Daniels company. Vote for Don Stanford and save us from having to listen to this guy brag about himself for 4 years.

Don Stanford was riding the coat tails of Kyle. Anything that stanford has done, was already started during Kyles time there. You voted out an business owner and banker for a b-ball referee!!! OH BOY that was a good one!! J

ason..... visionary....that sounds a lot like Obama speak....no thanks!

last thing we need to do is re-elect Stanford. At least with Kyle you can go and talk with him and not get an attitude like Standford.

These interviews have been enlightening. I thought I was voting for Cole, but after reading his interview along with Kyle's today, I definitely believe Kyle has a better plan for Decatur.

Did anyone notice the way the writer of this article and others is inserting "opinion" into the news story? The writer is stating an opinion and "not" quoting Mr. Kyle directly regarding why he is running for Mayor among other things. These are "NOT" his words... they are hers.

That's why EDITORIALS are done and identified as such. They can state an "opinion" and then people can weigh in and make their own determination of the truth.

Where has DD journalism code of ethics gone? This paper is doing an injustice to the people of this city and county by "spinning" the truth and reporting what works for the good of "their" chosen candidate. Shouldn't this election be decided upon the FACTS? This election, like many in the past, is too important to the city of Decatur and it's residents to being playing politics in the news media. Let's all Put politics aside for once, and put the peoples interest first.

Today's Kyle interview, video and Decatur Daily editorial confirm the substance of the below review and recap of the situation as posted yesterday. It all still applies: "On background a little refresher: In 2008 The Decatur Daily and Councilman Jackson mobilized against Don Kyle. Poof, Stanford wins by a little over 300 votes. Enter Stanford and infighting resulting in the Council hiring Terry to cover the shortcomings. Then comes The Decatur Daily fanning the flames for a referendum. Poof again, and we are to get a city council hired "City Manager" not directly accountable to voters. Now The Decatur Daily, The Chamber of Commerce and one candidate in particular have elevated Mr. Terry to an "anointed" status with a predetermined appointment to the City Manager job. Conclusion: What we have is the two main infighters continuing their feud; an unseasoned, relatively inexperienced, historically Democrat, progressive lawyer extending the "Hope and Change" mantra to us; and last, Don Kyle, the one deeply experienced adult in the race who will once again propel us forward. Whoever we elect will have to deal with conversion to Council/Manager government within the law. We need a mayor who will devote full time and attention to Decatur. Vote for the reasoned maturity and experience of Don Kyle and let's get going again."

Mr. Dan Kyle

You were cheated in last election by Billy Jackson and current Mayor Stanford . They both agreed to take care of each other's interest . Billy Jackson was promised Council Chairman ship for telling his voters to vote for Stanford, Mr. Jackson got burn by Mr.Standford for not supporting him to elect as Council Chairman.

Mr. Standford could not have won but for those votes. Please don't loose faith in City Voter., you will be next Mayor of City.

Kenneth nailed it again. Vote Kyle.

Busbey has no chance. She had 300K ripped out from under her nose. Nice job. Stanford needs to go back to the bating cages, umpiring and servicing fire extinguishers. Cole . . . well he actually opendd his mouth and spoke at Burningtree one night . . . ruined that campaign in 30 seconds. Kyle is the only logical choice. As Kenneth put it about as well as anyone could . ."Vote for the reasoned maturity and experience of Don Kyle and let's get going again."

MORON!

kyle llied to the people of decatur when he said that he would review the rule forcing business owners to ban smoking in their privately owned busineses to make it less draconian. but then turned around and signed it anyway practicly the next day. once a liar, always a liar......

Kyle emailed his supporters to post in the comments section of the Daily. This is what you get. His supporters are as obnoxious as he is.
