Church is one of the few places left where the philisophy of Christ is taught, the philosify that has led and inspired us as a people for ages. In losing that connection we are becoming a vast wasteland, aimless in life, turning to drugs and other useless diversions. History has taught that a people must have a religion to which they are dedicated, to survive and to meet the spiritual needs of the people. Usually, it's not the strong that survive as much as those dedicated to their tried and proven religious institutions.
If your religious life just doesn't seem right, or it's a struggle to understand, or you're unhappy about it and just can't figure it all out....quit. I did and I feel much better.
"Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
----
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one."
--John Lennon
