What? Private school students don't pay taxes??? They DO pay taxes. Sisk must be a Democrat!!

Sounds like the private school students are paying both their property taxes and the assessed fees. These are paid into the State of Alabama revenue fund. The Tennessee students are the ones who should be paying into Alabama's state funds. They should not be more privileged than our own Alabama students.

So why not permit private and home-schooled students to participate in tech school and even public school extracurricular activities (sports, band) at no cost? These parents pay the same taxes (most likely more) than the average public school parent. Perfect example: Tim Tebow was home schooled in FL and was allowed to play football in the public school system. Also, if Ardmore TN students already pay to go to Ardmore High, why do they pay extra to go to tech school?

Can't have your cake and eat it too. If the public schools are good enough to coach your kids then they are good enough to educate them. Enroll them in the public school they are zoned to attend and watch your tax dollars work or move to Ardmore, Tenn. Tim Tebow lived in Florida, not Alabama.

Never confuse issues. Do not believe, for a moment, that a "special" athlete (like Tebow or any other) is the same as all public school kids. There are differents costs for the schools and programs these students attend. And.....Alabama High School Band or athletics' parent will tell you how much extra their childrens' programs cost!
