Perhaps the time has come for a thorough review of the abortion movement in America beginning with leading eugenicist, and Democrat Party pillar, Margaret Sanger's many written musings on the "darker-skinned races" in the nineteen-thirties, and, the location of Planned Parenthood clinics, slightly more than ninety percent of which are centered in, or, on the fringe of, our nation's largest black neighborhoods, (Google Planned Parenthood locations). While the organization experienced a small drop in the overall number of abortions in 2012, in a normal year Planned Parenthood performs 1.3 million abortions. Black ministers have for years railed against this atrocity, but, had no voice until the rise of Fox News. Who could have ever imagined that the greatest opposition to the genocidal slaughter of African-Americans would rise from the southern states?
Is this a jobs bill? How will this raise revenues, cut spending or help alabama's economy?
Otis,
The whole purpose of religion is to facilitate love and compassion, patience, tolerance, humility, and forgiveness. It’s clear to me that many of you anti abortion terrorists do not operate under loving and compassionate religious principles. You are driven by hate, anger and fear. You act out against strong, moral women who make decisions about when and if to bear children. And it is that female agency and morality that angers and scares the living hell out of you folks, that defies your personal sense of morality, and that drives your kind to act in heinous, immoral ways.
The pro-life agenda is made up of scare tactics, bullying and yes, killing people who they believe are doing work that is wrong and that they don’t approve of.
Where can you find love and compassion amongst the anti abortion terrorists as they scream at women with their bullhorns and use hateful language that diminishes human dignity? In what ways do they show love and compassion when telling a woman that the devil inside the clinic will drink the blood of her child or that the doctor will turn your child into baby road kill or your child will haunt you at night?
How can anyone claim to love both the woman and the fetus when, in truth, they value a woman’s fetus more than the woman? In the mind of the hubristic anti abortion activist, the fetus is a gift from God that they want to force on a woman, regardless of a woman’s wishes or circumstances. Organizations like Operation Rescue, Operation Save America and the Prolife Action League are singularly focused on ending abortion in America with absolutely no regard for the needs of women. There is little tolerance and certainly no humility within the leadership or their minions. Every time I hear an anti choicer invoke the name of Jesus, I cringe. There’s nothing Christ-like in that invocation, particularly because it lacks love and because it’s full of rage and contempt for every woman who enters a clinic.
The term ‘pro-life,’ while it may make you think of warm, happy, yay for life thoughts, it is simply a group of people who enjoy the hell out of intimidating and scaring people who don’t believe what they do and if they get really angry, they’ll just go out and kill you, which is evident since pro-lifers have bombed buildings and murdered abortion providers “to save the babies.” So say it with me, folks; pro-life does not mean that you get to go out and kill whoever doesn’t agree with you. Pro-life should mean just that, otherwise, these people should really think about renaming their cult group to “Pro-life or we'll kill you if you don't agree with us.” Ahhh yes...Christain love...just another oxymoron!
Willful ignorance and intellectual mediocrity might make you cool in the 7th grade, but as a lawmaker they just make you stupid!
Timothy from CALERA, you are reading into the comment that which is not there. While the name calling bores me, if you would care to address the comment directly, I would be delighted to entertain your spirited argument. What have you to say regarding Margaret Sanger's writing, and, the location of Planned Parenthood clinics? Unpleasant as it may be, both form the foundation of the history of the American abortion movement and are revered by the Democrat Party. With regard to African-Americans, modern abortion apologists disavow with words that which is being carried out in deed and seek always to abruptly divert the narrative away from these elements of the historical record.
Otis...blah blah blah.......same old tripe....
A comprehensive global study of abortion has concluded that abortion rates are similar in countries where it is legal and those where it is not, suggesting that outlawing the procedure does little to deter women seeking it.
Moreover, the researchers found that abortion was safe in countries where it was legal, but dangerous in countries where it was outlawed and performed clandestinely. Globally, abortion accounts for 13 percent of women’s deaths during pregnancy and childbirth, and there are 31 abortions for every 100 live births, the study said.
The results of the study, a collaboration between scientists from the World Health Organization in Geneva and the Guttmacher Institute in New York, a reproductive rights group, are being published Friday in the journal Lancet.
“We now have a global picture of induced abortion in the world, covering both countries where it is legal and countries where laws are very restrictive,” Dr. Paul Van Look, director of the W.H.O. Department of Reproductive Health and Research, said in a telephone interview. “What we see is that the law does not influence a woman’s decision to have an abortion. If there’s an unplanned pregnancy, it does not matter if the law is restrictive or liberal.”
But the legal status of abortion did greatly affect the dangers involved, the researchers said. “Generally, where abortion is legal it will be provided in a safe manner,” Dr. Van Look said. “And the opposite is also true: where it is illegal, it is likely to be unsafe, performed under unsafe conditions by poorly trained providers.”
Highly restrictive abortion laws are not associated with lower abortion rates. For example, the abortion rate is 29 per 1,000 women of childbearing age in Africa and 32 per 1,000 in Latin America—regions in which abortion is illegal under most circumstances in the majority of countries. The rate is 12 per 1,000 in Western Europe, where abortion is generally permitted on broad grounds.
Both the lowest and highest subregional abortion rates are in Europe, where abortion is generally legal under broad grounds. In Western Europe, the rate is 12 per 1,000 women, while in Eastern Europe it is 43. The discrepancy in rates between the two regions reflects relatively low contraceptive use in Eastern Europe, as well as a high degree of reliance on methods with relatively high user failure rates, such as the condom, withdrawal and the rhythm method.
The reality is that so-called pro-life movement is not about saving babies. It’s about regulating sex. That’s why they oppose birth control. That’s why they want to ban abortion even though doing so will simply drive women to have dangerous back alley abortions. That’s why they want to penalize women who take public assistance and then dare to have sex, leaving an exemption for those who become pregnant from rape. It’s not about babies. If it were about babies, they would be making access to birth control widespread and free and creating a comprehensive social safety net so that no woman finds herself with a pregnancy she can’t afford. They would be raising money for research on why half of all zygotes fail to implant and working to prevent miscarriages. It’s not about babies. It’s about controlling women. It’s about making sure they have consequences for having unapproved sex. Or more plainly...controlling other peoples lives!
Timothy from CALERA, have you any thoughts on Margaret Sanger's writing and Planned Parenthood's locations? There are those who from a historical perspective are less incurious.
Timothy, thank you for your writings. It shows first hand just how feeble minded and inhuman liberals really are. There's no difference between the thug that kicked and killed that beautiful 8 month old child last week and a doctor tearing a beautiful unborn human baby apart in the womb. So, if you feel the need to make yourself feel better by writing 4 o 5 more paragraphs of ignorance go ahead. In the end I still win the argument and I used tremendously less words to do it.
Unless commenters so far are females using historically male names, your opinons are baseless.
Margaret Sanger was a female. The name Margaret has no male history.
Hey Otis, exactly how many times have you given birth? How many vaginas do you have? Because if the answer to both of those questions is zero, you might want to consider staying out of this. As a man, this isn't really your fight. But please feel free to tell us more about how crucial Fox news has been in giving a voice to African Americans. If there is one thing we don't get enough in this country, it's the white American male's "historical perspective". I'm sure you have all kinds of original, informed, and well-articulated sociopolitical points to make. So stick your finger way down in the back of your throat and regurgitate some more of whatever pseudo-intellectual, neo-conservative dribble you heard on Micheal Medved last night.

Just remember: your pretentious little rants might impress a freshmen political science major; but mastering the art of contarianism, reading the Drudge Report, and owning a copy of "the Patriot's History" doesn't mean you have anything worthwhile to add to the abortion debate. Don't let that stop you though. You have a country to take back. Right Otis?
Kenneth, you may rest in the secure knowledge that Margaret Sanger had a vagina. Have you any comment on her recorded views? Is there no one willing to address Ms. Sanger's writing and the location of the Planned Parenthood clinics?
By any chance, are you the same "kenneth" who, a few days ago, in these comments, advocated ancient Spartan homosexuality and pedophilia as the social model for modern America? See the Decatur Daily article, "Text and audio of coach's comments on Michelle Obama, gays" February 4.
OTIS - what Margaret Sanger has to say regarding women's issues is her informed opinion. What you have to say regarding women's issues can only be the parroting of something you've heard from someone who you think is smart. Unless you are a female using a historically male user name, your opinions on this subject are nothing more than the baseless rantings of one who enjoys hearing himself talk.
"S", what Margaret Sanger has written indeed comprises that to which you respectfully refer as her "informed opinion". Your acknowledgement reflects the prominence her memory and life's work occupy in the history of American abortion movement and the Democrat Party. At issue however is what her "informed opinion" was informed by. The African-American community does not share your enthusiasm and believes Margaret Sanger's opinion is all but "informed". The "informed opinion" you so cherish, however, is shared by a number of white supremacists organizations including the Ku Klux Klan. I strongly recommend that you issue an immediate apology and quickly disavow your written statement as Margaret Sanger's writing, and, your respectful treatment of it, is deeply offensive to the African-American community. I am inclined to believe you, too, will evade altogether the subject of Planned Parenthood and its locations lest you again insult those recipients of what history has judged to be Ms. Sanger's remarkable cruelty. "S", eugenics and racism have no place in the modern world, certainly not in this forum. Additionally, you may rest assured that the name Margaret has no male history, and, that Ms. Sanger had at least one vagina.
I would remind "kenneth (for Sparta)" and "Timothy from CALERA" that the African-American community has taken note of your evasion and silence in this matter. Your tacit support for "S's" naked racism is, to say the least, stunning, as African-Americans regard your motives less as cowardice and more as insidious unpronounced endeavor.
"Timothy from CALERA", the African-American community regards this issue as something other than, "blah, blah, blah .......... same old tripe." Perhaps it would be best if, for a while, you kept your opinions out of the public domain.
"S", while I admire your courage in addressing half the issue raised, I disagree with your opinion. I do, however, advise that your thoughts on the location of Planned Parenthood clinics in African-American neighborhoods remain just so.
While this article is several days old, it has remained on the home page since. I advise the Decatur Daily to immediately remove this article from the home page lest the Daily further offends the local African-American community.
The most previous comment I made on this subject was directed at Otis and concluded with, "Unless you are a female using a historically male user name, your opinions on this subject are nothing more than the baseless rantings of one who enjoys hearing himself talk." At the time it was made, I had no idea that the content of my statement would be proven, beyond question, by the very person to whom it was directed. WOW - 5 consecutive comments! That has to be a record.
