Hartselle Police Department authorities reported a homeowner woke up about 3 a.m. Oct. 10 and discovered the front door was open at his residence on Nelson Street in Hartselle. Upon further inspection, the homeowner realized someone had been inside his residence and also noticed his vehicles had been burglarized, Lt. Justin Barley said.
Responding officers located the suspects in the neighborhood and detained them. It was later determined other vehicles in the area had been burglarized. Stolen property was located in the vicinity of the crimes and also in possession of the suspects.
The suspects, Brandon Ray Roberts, of Danville, and Daniel Lamar Knight, of Hartselle, were arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, and burglary of an automobile, Barley reported.
They were transported later to Morgan County Jail with other changes pending. Bond was set at $60,000 each.
