Vote Stanford. He got much more done than that liberal Demorat DONothing Kyle.

Buzz, you aren't allowed to campaign on election day,but Mayor Kyle says.thanks !

Please list Stanford's accomplishments.

U can only hope that the registered voters come out today and all support their candidate of choice.

After 22 years in the military supporting everyone's right to vote it pisses me off when people don't vote.

Don Kyle is the by far the best choice. Candidate Cole has duped the Chamber of Commerce into believing he is a pro-business Democrat. Democrat yes, pro-business, no. The Chamber leadership has not diligently assessed the situation. Cole has been and is a long term extreme left Obama supporter. He has repeatedly argued in public and private settings for the progressive agenda which is for growth of government and by its very nature, anti-business. A donation from a former Republican Party operative does not erase longstanding liberalism. Also, reasonable thinking people will agree that it is a healthy and good thing for locally represented companies to support pro-business advocates like Kyle, whether through a PAC, or directly. We cannot afford the mistake of putting an otherwise inexperienced, progressive lawyer in office on the shallow and legally unresolved promise of being a part time mayor.

I'm truthfully asking, not being a smart aleck. Please provide more info on this statement: Cole has been and is a long term extreme left Obama supporter.

Answer for AJ. Was out doing some work and just saw your question. Carl Cole ran twice as the Democrat opponent against Robert Aderholdt for the U.S. House of Representatives, Alabama District 4 . His pro-Obama Facebook posting were removed a couple of weeks before he announced his run for Mayor. Also, while Obama was running for the Illinois Senate seat, two years before running for President, Cole was coaching basketball and was then wearing Illinois Senate Obama campaign t-shirts to practice. He is a Democrat running in a non-partisan election and there is nothing wrong with that. What is wrong is doing so and keeping it hidden.

And so this affects Coles ability to be Mayor how exactly? It is a NONPARTISON election and you would think just giving back half his salary would please a tight fisted Republican or two, work wise Stanford should have given back his whole salary!

In Alabama and particularly in Morgan County and Decatur, citizens generally understand and appreciate the superiority of our God given, Founders' established traditional American values of individual liberty and personal freedom. Democrats, liberals and their new preferred tag, progressives are about taxing yours, to "re-distribute" the wealth by being in positions to "control" public resources and giving it to others, namely "theirs", for influence. If you want a leftist liberal directing the affairs of our city, vote for him. Please do not, as he does, pretend it doesn't matter with flippant questions like: "And so this affects Cole's ability to be Mayor how exactly?" Underlying values matter and labeling an election non-partisan makes honesty more important, not less. Don Kyle initiated balanced budgets in Decatur in 2004 and they have, to the City Council’s credit, been maintained since. The last thing we need is elect an Obama protégé to do to Decatur what his mentor is doing to America.
