LESTER — Caleb McConnell made the most of his only two pass attempts, connecting with wide receiver Aaron McWilliams on scoring throws of 13 and 59 yards as West Limestone closed out the regular season with a win 28-13 win over Ardmore.
Ardmore struck first, taking a 7-0 lead on Adam McCarley’s 1-yard run and Christopher Green’s successful extra point attempt early in the second quarter.
Dillon Miller’s 85-yard run tied the game two possessions later before West Limestone took the lead on McConnell’s first touchdown throw (13 yards) to McWilliams.
Ardmore cut the lead to 14-13 on McCarley’s second 1-yard touchdown of the game, but would get no closer as the Wildcats tacked on two touchdowns, a 3-yard run by Tyler McCormick and McConnell’s second scoring pass, to close out the game.
McCarley finished with a game-high 116 yards on 23 carries for Ardmore.
Miller had 115 yards on eight carries for West Limestone, while McCormick added 86 yards on nine carries.
